Analyzing the Contributing Factors of Menopause that Result in Abdominal Fat Accumulation.(Part-1)

Menopause ends a woman's reproductive years naturally. Several hormonal changes during menopause can cause belly obesity. Estrogen reduction is the main hormonal alteration, but other aspects contribute.

Estrogen controls metabolism and fat distribution. Estrogen levels drop dramatically during menopause. Visceral fat, especially abdominal fat, increases with this hormonal shift.

Fat distribution changes with estrogen decrease. Visceral fat, which surrounds organs, increases while subcutaneous fat decreases.

Although estrogen protects metabolism, its drop during menopause can lower it. As the body burns fewer calories, weight gain might ensue. Slow metabolism increases belly fat.

Menopause hormones can cause insulin resistance. Insulin resistance increases fat storage, especially abdominal fat, and disrupts metabolism.

Menopause hormones affect appetite and desires. Increased hunger and cravings for high-calorie foods might cause weight gain and belly fat in certain women.

Menopause symptoms like hot flashes, lethargy, and mood swings might decrease physical activity.

Reduced activity and hormonal changes might cause weight gain and abdominal fat.
