Fans expected to send 49ers off before Super Bowl LVIII.

In Santa Cruz — The 49ers' support base has accompanied the team on every trip they've taken in the last ten years or more. It appears that the support is also increasing season after season.

Super Bowl LVIII is sure to have a large contingent of 49ers fans, given the journey from the Bay Area to Las Vegas takes around 90 minutes from gate to gate. "I believe we have the best-traveling fan base overall," stated 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa earlier this season.

On Sunday at around 3:30 p.m., the team busses will leave the 49ers' complex, which is close to Levi's Stadium, and head to the airport. Before major road trips, legions of 49ers supporters often gather along Stars and Stripes Drive in Santa Clara to cheer on the team. Sunday, the path will be lined with a strong group of fans.

As a way to thank the locals for their support, the 49ers secured the top seed in the NFC playoffs and promised to play all of their postseason games at Levi's Stadium until the Super Bowl.

Even though Levi's Stadium opened for the 2014 season, the 49ers didn't seem to benefit much from playing at home for a while after that. There was a time when the 49ers went 8–5, 2–6, and 4– win streaks in a row.

Things have changed, though, since the 49ers have been a perennial threat every year, making it to the Super Bowl twice in the previous five seasons and making four visits to the NFC Championship game.

The 49ers have won home field advantage in the Super Bowl on two occasions. Playoff record at Levi's Stadium: 6-0 49ers.

According to 49ers tight end George Kittle, "you can feel the love from everyone out there," and he also mentioned the incredible environment.
